Connecticut to increase minimum wage in 2006

Connecticut Governor M. Jodie Rell signed House Bill No. 6228 on May 17, increasing the minimum wage to $7.40 an hour effective January 1, 2006, and again to $7.65 per hour effective January 1, 2007.  Currently the minimum wage is $7.10 per hour.

Effective 01/01/05 - 12/31/05 Basic Hourly Rate $6.00 per hour

Effective January 1, 2005, the New York State Minimum wage will increase to $6.00 per hour.  It will increase to $6.75 per hour as of January 1, 2006 and $7.15 per hour as of January 1, 2007.  Any increase in the federal minimum wage above the State's rate will result in an increase in the State's minimum wage.
